John Park Finley, a young army cadet, was ordered to conduct a damage survey that eventually resulted in a published book entitled: "Tornadoes of May 29 and 30 th, in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa." I am fortunate to own a copy of the book and have read it several times.

Thanks to Tornado History Project, we can take a better look at Kansas tornadoes over the past 65 years and see just how we stack up to other states. According to the THP, Kansas saw a total of 4, tornadoes between April - November.Tornadoes were reported on Kansas and Nebraska on the evening of May 2,as a ebook of severe weather hit the severe storms caused damage to homes and buildings, but no injuries were reported.

Chasers spotted several large tornadoes tracking across the rural areas of the Plains.
